FFA will be hosting a Canned Food Drive this week. The WIN class who brings the most canned good items to donate will win a free Pizza Party! We will be collecting the cans on Friday at the end of the day.


McCook Community College and the MHS Counseling Department are holding a College Info Night on February 26th from 6:30- 7:30 pm in Conference Room B for high school students and their parents. Pizza and pop will be provided, and MCC swag will be given away as door prizes! Come learn more about taking classes at MCC while in high school, or as a full time student after you graduate. MCC advisors and MHS counselors will be on hand to answer questions after the presentation.


For all Boys participating in GOLF this spring - there will be a meeting in Conf. Rm B Monday, February 25th at 3:45pm. Any individuals who have not participated in the past need to come see Coach Vetrovsky in Room 106 at the high school prior to this meeting date.


For interested JUNIORS & SENIORS -a representative from Fort Hays State University will be here on Wed., Feb. 20th at 9:30am in the commons. Sign up in the counseling office, if you'd like to attend!


SENIORS  -We have received a NEW application for the McCook American Legion Post #203 (Chris Hansen Memorial Scholarship) for up to $500 to any college or technical program!  If you have picked that one up already, please stop and get a new application. If you have not picked up this application, please stop by the counseling office. 

            -Linda Maiden State Farm $1,000.00 Good "Neighbear" Scholarship.  Must attend MCC due April 15th.

             -Kenneth L Short Scholarship, $1000.00  due April 5th

             -In February and March one of the counselors will be available for Scholarship Sundays from 1:00- 3:00pm in the high school commons area to help with scholarship searches and applications. Snacks and drinks will be provided! Be sure to bring your Chromebook.


SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS - If you are interested in attending UNL and/or UNO, there will be a college visit to both campuses on Wednesday, March 6th. Sign up in the counseling office by February 22nd. Space is limited, so priority will be given to students who would likely meet admission requirements (ACT score of at least 20 or top 50% of class).  The bus/van will leave promptly at 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5th and will return around 8:00 p.m. on the 6th. Meals, transportation, and hotel room (shared with up to 3 others of same gender) will be provided. A signed parent permission form and a $10 refundable deposit is due by Feb 22nd to hold your spot.
